Fijiana hungry for a win

The Telecom Fijiana 15s captain Lailani Burnes says after being disappointed in their first game, the side is hungry for a win.

Burnes says they will give the game against Japan their best shot.

“It’s going to be a tough match against Japan and we will give our all and make the nation proud. We are aiming to qualify for the World Cup next year”

This is a must win match for the Fijian that will determine whether they will qualify for the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup in Ireland.

The Fijianas faced a difficult situation after losing 7-45 to host- Hong Kong Friday night in their first qualifying match.

The Fijiana 15s side plays their do or die match against Japan at 12 mid night tonight.

The winner of the qualifying tournament will go to WRWC 2017 in Dublin next August as Asia/Oceania 1.

The top qualifying team in Hong Kong will face hosts Ireland as well as France and Australia in Pool C, while the runner-up will join 2014 World Cup runners-up Canada, New Zealand and Wales in Pool A.
