Speaking to World Rugby national coach, Gareth Baber, said the players made a couple of handling errors.

“That wasn’t the best we’ve played but Samoa were good for it. I thought we defended pretty well for the majority of the game. We had a couple of opportunities to use the ball at hand – we didn’t take that it the first half and lost the ball in the second half and they scored and that is the game of 7s."

Baber says the players defended well in the second half.

“We have to fight for everything, it’s the nature of playing rugby at this level and you’ve got to be in a fight for it and as you said before for everything we scored with the last play which you know happens in 7s games."

Fiji will now face New Zealand in the first semifinal at 3.49pm.
