Fiji 7s team to up the ante in Tokyo

March 27, 2012 5:05 am

The Fiji 7s team will up the ante at the Tokyo 7s this weekend.

Manager Semi Rogoyawa says the players were visited by Fiji’s High Commissioner to Japan Isikeli Mataitoga last night.

Rogoyawa says Mataitoga informed the players that if they thought Hong Kong was tough, Japan will be harder.

“They were told that the strength of the tournament will be different. The pool they are in will be like a final so maintaining the game tempo or taking it even higher would be the way to go. We had a church service with Fiji’s High Commissioner last night and these were some of the areas he addressed with the players.”

Mataitini will be handing jerseys to the players on Friday.

The Tokyo 7s kicks off this Saturday; Fiji plays France at 3.12pm, Japan at 6.47pm and will meet England at 10.09pm.
