Do not underestimate the Flying Fijians-Matavesi

August 30, 2015 6:22 pm

Vodafone Flying Fijian flyhalf, Josh Matavesi has sounded an early warning to World Cup opponents that the side is gunning for the Webb Ellis Trophy.

The France-based player says there is a firm belief in the squad of a good outing despite being grouped in the so-called ‘Pool of Death’ with hosts, England, Australia, Wales and Uruguay.

“Don’t think any of our team mates would play if we wouldn’t want to win so our goal is to win the World Cup. That is why we are going, we’re not there to make up the numbers. We got to go with a positive attitude and believe that we’re going to win; it doesn’t matter who is in front of us, we just have to play our game.”
