Only three players from the current Digicel Fiji sevens rugby squad will be retained for the Wellington and Las Vegas tournaments next year.

Fiji coach Alifereti Dere revealed this as his team arrived back from a disappointing outing in Dubai and South Africa.

Dere says he was disappointed that the side failed to reach its target in the two tournaments.

He further adds the preparation time undertaken was also not sufficient but hasn’t given up hope on winning the IRB World Series.

Dere says with six tournaments to go, Fiji still has a chance of winning the series.
