Croatia upset heavyweights Argentina 3 – nil and have booked their place in the knockout stage for Group D at the FIFA World Cup.
Both sides were level nil-all at halftime.
Croatia got the breakthrough 8 minutes into the second half as Argentine keeper Willy Caballero made a blunder and gifted the ball straight to Ante Rebic who cleverly volleyed over Caballero’s head and into an empty net.
Luka Modric then extends their lead 2-nil, 10 minutes before fulltime.
Ivan Rakitic then sealed the deal with a neat finish in a minute into added time, to make it 3- nil and give Croatia their second win in as many games.
In the same group tomorrow, if Iceland beat Nigeria, Argentina will be on the brink of elimination depending on the final round of games next week.
