Former Fiji snooker number two, Nitesh Chand looks to be the firm favorite to win the Fiji International Open tournament underway at the Merchant Club in Suva.

The Lautoka player has secured a spot in the semi-finals after defeating Epeli Bua in the quarterfinals this morning.

In another quarterfinal match, Praneel Singh of Merchant Club beat Raheel Prasad.

The third quarterfinal is underway between Pritesh Khatri and Suresh Thauhan, with the former leading by 2-1.

The finals of the Fiji International Open Snooker tournament will be held this afternoon with the winner to collect $1000.
