The Bula Boys were denied a win by the Solomon Islands in Suva last night and had to settle for a 3-all draw in their MSG Prime Minister’s Cup 2026 match.
Fiji finished the game with 10 men after Tevita Waranivalu copped a red card in the 72nd minute.
Roy Krishna put Fiji in front in the 26th minute when he finished off a Gabby Matanisiga header from a corner.
The visitors stepped up and got their game going with more pressure on Fijian goalkeeper, Joela Biuvanua, who made three saves in the first half.
However, in the 38th minute, Solomon Islands was awarded a penalty after a foul by Fiji inside the box. The penalty was converted.
Just three minutes later, the Fijians were back in front 2-1 through a wonderful goal from Maikah Dau following some lovely one-two touches.
Navua star Thomas Dunn silenced the Solomon Islands crowd when he fired home Fiji’s third in the 54th minute.
It was all going Fiji’s way until the 72nd minute when substitute Waranivalu was shown a red card.
Solomon Islands took advantage of the extra man and pulled one back through Jayroll Patti in the 82nd minute to set up a tense finish.
With Fiji looking to hold onto its one-goal advantage, Javin Wae struck in injury time to complete the Solomon Islands fightback and level the scores at 3-3.
