Boxing Commission sticks to their guns

The Boxing Commission of Fiji is not backing down from their suggestion to dissolve the Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA).

FABA president, Wailena Vugakoto yesterday requested independency and time to get back on their feet.

However, Boxing Commission chairman, John Rabuku believes it’s too late for second chances.

“They can change their name but that does not give them a genuine reason to be given the right to hold full responsibility of amateur boxing again and we will be meeting the Ministry of Sports to ensure this follows through.”

Minister for Youth & Sports Commander Viliame Naupoto is expected to meet all parties involved, this week to resolve the issue.
