Universities and Higher learning institutions have been told to be at the forefront of small business development.
Minister for Industry and Trade Faiyaz Koya made this statement while speaking at an entrepreneur workshop in Suva.
Koya says resources should be provided to further enhance the development of small business operators.
For small businesses to excel in our growing economy, Koya has advice Universities and Higher learning institutions to support operators in delivering the best and quality training they deserve.
“This may obviously include research facilities and testing of product, leadership courses in small business and the best mentoring for successful entrepreneurs.”
Meanwhile the Fijian government fully endorses the creation of micro, small and medium enterprises with special focus on young and resourceful Fijians.
