A heavy rain alert remains in force for Lau and Lomaiviti group, Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the eastern part and interior of Viti Levu.
The Fiji Meteorological Services says a southeast wind flow prevails over the group. A low pressure system is anticipated to pass just east of Fiji early next week.
The associated trough of low pressure is expected to affect the country from later tomorrow.
Fijians can expect brief showers, becoming frequent and heavy with thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
Localized heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
