Three men in custody following raids on hard drugs

Three men are in police custody following separate raids as police zeroed in on those involved in hard drugs.

Police Spokesperson, Ana Naisoro says several raids have been conducted on those alleged to be involved in the trade and use of methamphetamine as well as cocaine as part of the fifth phase of Operation Cavuraka.

Naisoro says a raid was conducted on Friday at Hanford Place in Narere, 8 miles at the home of a man believed to be in his 50s, whereby clear plastic bags containing white crystal powder believed to be methamphetamine were found.

She says in the second raid the same day, a raid was conducted at the home of a man believed to be in his 30s at Vishnu Deo Road in Nakasi.

Police discovered a small plastic containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine and cash.

In the third raid conducted yesterday, a man in his 30s was arrested after a clear plastic containing white powder believed to be cocaine as well as other apparatus were found in his car which was parked in Votualevu in Nadi.

The substances has been sent for analysis while the three man remain in police custody.

Police is calling on the public to call Crime Stoppers on 919 if they have any information on those involved in the illicit drug trade.
