Regional Water experts to assist local counterpart with Algae concern

A group of experts from New Caledonia will be arriving tomorrow to assist the Water Authority in diagnosing the problem of an algae bloom at the Vaturu Dam in Nadi.

Chief Executive, Opetaia Ravai, has confirmed the experts will also study the whole plant and the quality of water.

He says regional experts are also committed to fixing the problem and are planning to decide what type of technology needed.

Ravai says the Water Authority does not only focus on the dam as they also check the activities surrounding the dam such as logging.
