The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre will build refuge homes for women who have been sexually abused.

FWCC Coordinator Shamima Ali says the project will provide an exit strategy for the women.

“The shelters that we are going to have for abused women, one in Ba and one in Labasa to serve the North, the one in Ba to serve the West and then we are going to have. We are intending to establish a home in Suva for sexually abused girls in particular. Girls who have reached 18 in particular and cannot live in homes anymore but have to find their own way afterwards.”
