These were the words of the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji Barry Whiteside as he launched the 2015 National Microfinance Awards in Suva today.
“The awards are indeed very special as the enable us to honour and recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of some of the best micro-entrepreneurs and microfinance service providers in Fiji.”
The Governor added that it is vital that small businesses in the country be nurtured because with time and support they will grow and lend their combined weight to the Fijian economy.
This year there is a new inclusion in the awards category which is the “Best Microfinance Young Entrepreneur Award.
Nominations for all entries are now open and will close on 31st August.
