President hosts Scots Guards at the State House

President Major-General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote hosted a welcoming reception for the Scots Guards at the State House in Suva yesterday.

The Scots Guards were part of the “Change of Guard” ceremony that included the Republic of the Fiji Military Forces and Fiji Police Force that marched along Stinson Parade before the official change.

President Konrote welcomed the regiment to Fiji and wished them well for the duration of their stay.

British High Commissioner to Fiji, Melanie Hopkins commended the event and says that this will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

The RFMF now takes on from the Police Force to guard the State House.

This ceremonial occasion takes place every month.
