A post-mortem will be conducted today on the four-year-old girl who died on Sunday night.

Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro, says the mother of the victim remains in custody as police are waiting for the post mortem results.

Police had earlier said they are investigating this case as an alleged double suicide attempt.

The woman left their home in Vuci South, Nausori with her daughter and it is alleged on her way she called her husband stating she was going to take both their lives.

It’s alleged the woman drove her car into the Rewa River on the night of the alleged offence, killing her daughter.
