The Facebook comment made by SODELPA MP Mosese Bulitavu has been labeled ‘racist and bigotry comments’ by the council of churches.

Fiji Council of Churches President Reverend Dr. Tevita Nawadra says racist based comments made by Mosese Bulitavu has hit them with a surprise as they’re trying their level best to bring people together and such comments can affect the racial relations.

Dr. Nawandra says Bulitavu could have used his position and influence to advocate on such issues.

“He should bring out positive things. He should help advocate on such situations if it exists in those areas and in other parts of the country as well.”

He says the FCC has strongly condemned the racist remarks made by Bulitavu.

“Some we believe in the church that we are trying to do our level best to bring people together especially women and differences we have like racist and all.”

Bulitavu has faced stiff criticism from many sections of society, condemning his Facebook post.
