Police happy with behavior

The Fiji Police Force is satisfied with the behavior of the people during the Vodafone Hibiscus Festival do far.

Deputy Director Operations Abdul Khan says they have beefed up security and as a result a reduction in crime has been recorded.

“We have seen a reduction and yes in the school holidays we’ve also beefed the security up in the city like I mentioned to you earlier we want this holiday to be incident free. We are actually monitoring the nightclubs closing, we’ve got a special team also out there that is covering that… so far we haven’t seen any mishaps but if we see any nightclub owners letting the minors in we will take them to task for sure.”

SP Khan says apart from the city they have also increased security measures in other residential areas as many people are coming to enjoy the Hibiscus festival.

Meanwhile, tonight will be the Kings talent night from 6.30pm at the Hibiscus Tent, while on the main stage, it will be the Bollywood night.
