PM leaves for sugar meeting

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama will leave the country tomorrow to attend the International Sugar Organisation meeting in New Delhi.

Members of his delegation will leave the country on Saturday.

Permanent Secretary for Sugar Colonel Manasa Vaniqi says the meeting is important for Fiji as it will give them an opportunity to meet other sugar producing countries and learn from them.

Bainimarama is the Deputy Chairman of the meeting.

After the 8 day meeting a team from the Fiji delegation will go to Mauritius to see for themselves the sugar industry on the island.

Prime Minister is expected to return straight after the meeting.
