Today the hype of the Rugby World Cup was evident around Suva as market vendors and Fijians donned their blue t-shirts in support of the Fiji Team that played Australia today.

People from all walks of life decorated market stalls with banner blue flags and at the same time selling their produce while waiting on the Flying Fijians first game.

Business in Suva started earlier than usual today and for Suva City Council Worker Nemani Sarasau he hopes to finish up his work quick simply because it’s not everyday you get to cheer on our boys at the Rugby World Cup.

“Today I’m working at Suva City Council, at half-past three I’m going to go home and get ready for the match.”

For 39-year-old Josefa Semi his love for rugby is something he wanted to share with his workmates today.

“I’m selling pineapples in the market, I got plenty of pineapples but I’ll try my best to finish earlier before 4 So I can go home and watch the Fiji game coz Fiji is my favourite team that’s why all of us here we wear our Bula shirt, Fiji shirt.”

Meraia Liku who travelled all the way from Ra to sell her produce in Suva says she would be on her way back home when the game starts.

“By the time the game starts, I’ll be on the bus on my way to Ra but I will get off anywhere to watch our boys in action. Even if its not my house.”

Whether Fiji wins or loses, one thing is for sure that Fiji fans will always show their support in the most creative way.
