The National Federation Party says it supports the re-election of President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote in parliament this morning.

Leader, Biman Prasad says they had earlier expressed their disappointment with the lack of dialogue between both Government and the Opposition regarding the appointment of the President.

He says this would have been a great opportunity for government to cooperate with members of the opposition as the President is the symbol of unity.

“We’re deeply disappointed with the way in which the government handled this but we’re happy that the current President his Excellency (Jioji) Konrote has been reappointed.”

President Konrote has been appointed to a three-year term.
