Farmers living in Bainisoqosoqo Settlement, Rakiraki met with the Minister for Agriculture Dr. Mahendra Reddy yesterday to discuss urgent issues.

During a talanoa session, Dr. Reddy announced a secure market for farmers whereby the ministry will buy the crops at a guaranteed price and supply it to various buyers around the country.

Dr. Reddy says they’re working closely with exporters to grow sales but at the same time, must boost production and in order to do this a market needs to be provided to farmers.

The Minister adds the agricultural marketing authority will reach out to farmers and facilitate the purchase, sale, and export of agro and aqua produce.

Dr. Reddy is currently on a tour of agricultural projects in the Western Division.
