“Development of the new Suva port well firstly the upgrade of the current site as we are not letting that go and then the long term plans to re-locate to a site which is able to cater for increased cargo and of course movements of passengers.”

Ali says for a new port, they are considering a number of sites which includes Momi bay in Nadi and Dawasamu in Tailevu.

He says these plans are in the initial stage as they need to do assessments to look at a proper place where a new Fiji Port can be built.
