The Ministry of Health is looking to legalize sex workers in the country.

The revelation was made by Deputy Secretary for Public Health Dr Joe Koroivueta at a World AIDS Day press conference in Suva yesterday.

“Fiji has been internationally recognized for the giant step taken in the HIV decree but this is still not good enough”.

“The issue about new infections is still alarming in Fiji and this is where we should be targeting”.

Dr Koroivueta says STI’s are still prevalent amongst sex workers and all parties need to work together to address this issue.
