Missing ATSET members money none of our concern: Anthony

January 15, 2018 5:06 am

A day after the chair of the Air Terminal Services, revealed evidence that they had paid $5.78 million dollars as dividends, Fiji Trades Union Congress general secretary, Felix Anthony has distanced himself from the issue.

Anthony says the ATS Employees Trust, is a business arm of the shareholders and FTUC has no part to play in it and is not of concern for him.

He further says they have no idea as a union on the money paid out.

ATSET secretary, Vili Finau, is yet to comment on the matter and attempts to get in touch with him proved futile.

SODELPA candidate, Lynda Tabuya, has already stated they cannot comment on the matter.

ATS Chair, Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, has called for a national inquiry into the matter of the missing money and also there is a possibility of the matter being handled to FICAC and Police.

He presented documents and certificates to prove that ATS had paid out the dividends.

Sayed-Khaiyum has also questioned those supporting the unlawful action by the staff, as to why they were remaining quiet on the money matter.

To date, apart from Anthony, no other union leader or politician, has spoken about the dividend payout.

Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimamara, has also questioned the ATSET leaders on the missing money.
