Lautoka City on the rise

The culmination of a number of major projects in Lautoka in the next 18 months will prop it as a tourist destination alongside Nadi and Sigatoka.

This is the aspirations of the City as it strengthens its status as the administrative capital of the western division.

Lautoka City Council Chief Executive Jone Nakauvadra says, the ground breaking ceremony at Shirley Park for PMeighji’s Hotel project worth some $23m and with the opening of McDonalds this evening – will only stand to solidify it’s quest .

He says the culmination of all these projects will strengthen Lautoka’s status as Fiji’s only other City.

The other major project being carried out in the Sugar City is the Tapoos City Mall in Churchill Park.

The Mall is expected to house state of the art cinemas alongside shopping avenues that will bolster the growing hallmark changes taking place in the Sugar City.

Meanwhile McDonalds outlet will officially open its doors to members of the public in Lautoka at 7pm today.
