Private fire alarms are a good system in an effort to better manage fire hazards and in many instances preventing a disaster.

According to National Fire Authority Chief Executive Manasa Lesuma, it has saved numerous lives and properties as it actually alerts fire wardens or those responsible before the fire escalates to an uncontrollable stage.

Lesuma says more than three hundred PFA units have already been installed in buildings and the NFA is hoping more Fijians acquire the technology.
