Husband grieves for wife taken by Winston

February 26, 2016 12:42 am

Tropical Cyclone Winston has claimed forty-two lives.

One of those fatalities is thirty-two year old Titilia Mua from Delaiyadua village in Bureiwai,Tailevu .

It’s not easy for her husband to accept the fact that his wife died due to the storm.

Grieving husband Sevanai Ravanua says his wife tried to rescue a family from a house when she was hit by a falling tree .

Ravanua says despite all efforts, they were not able to save her life.

‘’I turned back to close the door at the same time my wife ran outside to save another family that got stuck in another place . She entered though the door of that house and little did she know that a tree had fallen onto the roof of that house and hit her . The family that she intends to help saved themselves . I tried my best to save her but sadly she died’’.

Mua was well known for her hard work ,a respectable woman and always involved in community work .

Her mother Elenoa Rakula says she still cant believe that her daughter is no longer alive

‘’My daughter is a humble person and she loves to do all the work. I really miss her a lot since most of the time I rely on her especially when a function took place at our village’’.

The family says Titilia will be missed especially by her 12-year-old daughter.
