Heavy rain alert remains in force

A heavy rain alert remains in force for Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the eastern half of Viti Levu, kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and northern Lau group.

This as a trough of low pressure lies slow moving to the north of Fiji.
Associated cloud and showers with the moist easterly wind flow affects the northern and eastern parts of the country.

For Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, the eastern half of Viti Levu, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Lomaiviti and northern Lau group, occasional showers with isolated heavy falls and few thunderstorms showers expected to increase to rain and becoming frequent and heavy from later tomorrow.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.
