The Ministry is nonetheless advising Fijians to be vigilant and to get immunized with vaccinations free at health clinics across the country.

The Ministry advises that measles is a highly infectious airborne disease that spreads easily through the air through breathing, coughing and sneezing of an infected person.

Symptoms of measles include a fever and a rash with either a runny nose, sneezing, cough, red and watery eyes and white spots inside the mouth.

The public is advised to seek medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms and to call ahead of your visit if possible to avoid spreading the disease to others.
