The Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, Yogesh Karan held a bilateral meeting with his Australian counterpart, Martin Parkinson AC.

The meet is a precursor to the Heads of the Pacific Prime Ministers Departments meeting.

Karan and Parkinson discussed the pillars of the Fiji-Australia Vuvale Partnership and how to progress further.

Karan later joined his counterparts from the Pacific at the Heads of the Pacific Prime Ministers Departments.

The meeting which was the first of its kind was hailed a success as it centered on regional challenges.

It also focused on building networks amongst Secretaries of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet in the Pacific.

The leaders will hold their second meeting in 2020.
