A man who sexually assaulted and raped his granddaughter numerous times over a three year period in Tailevu has been found guilty by the Suva High court.

The man was acquitted of one count of rape and convicted of five counts of rape, one count of sexual assault and one count of indecently annoying a person.

The court heard that the man committed the offences between 2012 and 2015.

The victim was in Class 2 when the first incident occurred.

He is expected to be sentenced this week.
