Fiji will host the 51st Presiding Officers and Clerks Conference next year.

Speaker of Parliament Ratu Epeli Nailatikau made the announcement at the 50th Conference at Queensland Parliament in Australia while presenting Fiji’s jurisdiction report.

Ratu Epeli is the Vice-Chair, an honor that is given to the next Parliament to host POCC.

The theme of the conference is ‘Practicalities of Presiding and Administering Parliaments’.

More than 60 representatives from Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Island countries were present to share their experiences and ideas on the practices and procedures of parliaments.

Fiji has attended several POCC conferences however, this will be the first time that Fiji will be hosting.
