The Health Ministry has a response plan ready to track down the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) virus should it reach our shores.
Spokesperson Sunil Chandra says they’re working with the multiagency taskforce group and have developed a response plan.
Although the risk of the virus entering the country is very low, the ministry is not taking it lightly.
Chandra says surveillance at the border and the ports of entry has been increased.
The deadly virus has taken nine lives in South Korea and three thousand five hundred people are quarantined.
