Innovation plays a vital role in helping Fijians to reduce carbon emissions.
Minister for Climate Change, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, says if Fiji want to reduce the global rising temperatures the country and its people need to be creative and innovative.
Sayed-Khaiyum says Fiji has made a commitment to reduce carbon emissions by thirty percent by 2030.
“Not just be able to adapt to changes in climate change but also to be able to bring about innovation that will create efficiency, energy efficiency and various other techniques and technologies that will help us meet the challenges."
Meanwhile, he says Fiji will soon be implementing issues such as energy efficiency whereby more renewable energy along with cleaner and greener transportation will be used.
