National airline, Fiji Airways has stopped all bookings to and from the Solomon Islands.

This follows the announcement by the Solomon Islands Government to suspend Fiji Airways flights to Honiara.

A statement from the national airline says bookings will only resume once the suspension is lifted.

Fiji Airways, through its Reservations Centre, is now re-routing booked passengers on alternative flights through Brisbane, Port Moresby and Port Vila.

The airline is also providing disrupted passengers accommodation and meals where required.

The airline remains hopeful of a speedy resolution to the situation.
