FICAC case against Dakuidreketi and others

The High Court in Suva has heard that some documents are yet to be obtained from other institutions in the case of former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and former Native Lands Trust Board executives, Keni Dakuidreketi and Kalivati Bakani.

Qarase, Dakuidreketi and Bakani appeared before Justice Prabaharan Kumararatnam yesterday.

A statement from the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption says an ANZ representative was in court to submit documents on a subpoena filed on behalf of Dakuidreketi.

His lawyer asked for more time to obtain the documents and sort them out, preferably after this year.

The case which involves an alleged attempt to defraud the NLTB has been adjourned to November 29.
