A 47 year old man has been charged with eight counts of rape and will be produced at the Labasa Magistrates Court today.

The accused is alleged to have raped his daughter on eight different occasions during the time the two had been reported missing.

They had not been seen since last Thursday and a report had been lodged at the Savusavu Police Station.

The father and daughter were found on Tuesday afternoon and upon investigations the victim alleged that she was threatened and raped by her father.

Due to the absence of a Magistrate the suspect was kept in custody overnight to be produced in court today.
