Expect more heavy rain overnight into tomorrow says the Nadi Weather office.
Duty Forecaster Steven Meke says people living in low lying areas in the western division should also brace for flash flooding.
“People have to take precautions. The heavy rain we experienced today will results in flooding of low lying areas. Rain will continue today and we had 70mm of rain and it will continue tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Lautoka Police Station Director Community Policing, Penijamini Vukivou is now urging people to take heed of the weather reports.
“Certain areas particularly low lying areas were flooded as of this afternoon. And we will be on stand-by to be of assistance to people if need be. People should also remain wary of the weather and move to higher grounds if they have and not to take any chances.”
Reports coming from the western division say the rain is heavy there and most are already taking precautionary measures.
