Elections Supervisor hits back at Tabuya

January 30, 2018 6:18 am

Supervisor of Elections has responded to Tabuya’s comment saying the press conference was purely political and raises questions about her motives at asserting the findings of FEO towards other events concerning workers.

Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem, says Tabuya must understand that the FEO’s actions regarding the PDP were purely due to her own failures to follow the law and the PDP Constitution.

Saneem says this is clearly evident and not disputed by her.

He says Tabuya fails in her understanding of the law and is misguided when she says that the SoE released minutes of the meeting held on December 7th.

Saneem says he has the powers to make his findings public when exercising a public function such as the current case of requiring the PDP to comply with the law.

He says Tabuya has in fact revealed more about the December meeting and the role of Felix Anthony than was found by the SoE.

Saneem says following the receipt of additional information, it is found that this MOU signed by PDP did not have proper Constitutional authorization of the PDP Management Board.

The SoE says they hope Tabuya can understand the basis of his decision in an objective manner.

Saneem says they cannot comment on Tabuya’s obvious attempt at politicising the matter to shroud obvious failures to comply with PDP Constitution and the Political Parties Act.
