A man that died after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle along the Kings Road in Ba over the weekend has been identified.

Police confirms the victim is 80-years-old from Waidamudamu Settlement in Nausori.

Police say that the victim’s daughter came forward after hearing news reports of the fatal accident.

The victim is alleged to have suddenly crossed the road when he was hit by the vehicle driven by a man in his 40s who was heading towards Ba.

He was searching for his daughter’s home when the unfortunate accident allegedly claimed his life.

The driver remains in custody.
