More arrests made following drug find

A thirty-two-year-old bus driver has been arrested by Ba Police after he was allegedly found with illicit drugs.

The suspect was allegedly found with forty-three branches of dried leaves and some loose dried leaves wrapped in tissue paper believed to be marijuana.

Chief Intelligence and Investigation, ACP Vakacegu Toduadua says the arrest was made possible through information received by Police.

Meanwhile in Labasa Town a fifty-three-year-old farmer was arrested after he was allegedly found in possession of two bullets of dried leaves wrapped in aluminum foil believed to be marijuana.

Both suspects are now in custody.

And in Savusavu – a twelve-year-old girl found a black plastic containing dried leaves suspected to be marijuana, which was hidden inside a tree.

The discovery was made when the girl was out collecting coconuts.

The drugs were handed over to the Police by the Nanuca Crime Committee.

All the drugs have been sent for analysis.
