A 20-year-old man from Lakena has been charged with one count of sacrilege for allegedly breaking into the Lakena Mosque on Tuesday morning.

A 20-year-old man from Lakena has been charged with one count of sacrilege.

The accused allegedly broke into the Mosque in the process of damaging louver blades and searched the premises however he could not find anything to steal.

He was arrested by investigators from the Nausori Police Station shortly after the incident.

He will be produced at the Nausori Magistrates Court today.
