Businesswoman appears in court for alleged bribery

A business woman charged with two counts of bribery has been released on $10,000 bail bond by the Suva Magistrates Court.

It is alleged that between 21st November 2016 and 7th February this year, Anita Mala while being the proprietor of Celsius Fire Protection and Pest Control without lawful authority or reasonable excuse offered an advantage of around eight hundred dollars.

It is alleged that Mala made the offer to Inia Saqanamua, and Anare Macedru who are employed by the Ministry of Labour.

A travel ban has also been imposed on Mala.

The matter has been adjourned to September 4th.
