Alleged drug seller remanded in custody

A 23-year-old man of Nadonumai in Lami who was allegedly seen selling drugs from a nearby-house, has been remanded in custody.

Ilikimi Torosi is charged with one count of being found in possession of illicit drugs.

Charges were read to him in the Suva Magistrates Court this afternoon and he was advised to seek Legal Aid assistance.

The alleged incident occurred last Thursday in Lami, after the Police were tipped-off by a member of the public.

The man was later arrested with twenty five rolls of illicit drugs believed to be marijuana weighing at 14.4 grams.

He was told to provide two sureties, who are older than him and must be employed.

Torosi will re-appear on the 22nd of this month.
