2018 PILNA report released

The 2018 Pacific Islands Literacy and Numeracy report has been officially launched today.

Speaking at the launch of the report New Zealand High Commissioner to Fiji Jonathan Curr says this is an eye-opener to areas in education that can be improved.

Research Analyst Dr. Michelle Berlisle says the report provides each Education Ministry crucial data to better assist students in year 4 and Year 6.

The results of the year 4 and year 6 students in Fiji will be released by the Ministry of Education.

However, when approached by FBC News to question Fiji’s performance in the Pacific Islands Literacy and numeracy assessment, Permanent Secretary Allison Burchell said she did not have the time to speak in the issue.

Over 40,000 students from 925 schools in 15 countries including Fiji underwent the Pacific Island Literacy and Numeracy Assessment.
