The McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s received another major boost ahead of its 2027 tournament after Shangri-La Yanuca Island, Fiji strengthened its support as naming rights partner of the Women’s Division and also the tournament’s official resort.

The partnership aligns with Shangri-La’s broader commitment to inclusion, opportunity and supporting women, both within its workplaces and through its engagement with the communities in which it operates.

General Manager Francis Lee says the partnership is a natural extension of the resort’s wider approach to supporting women and inclusion.

“Supporting women is an important part of how we approach inclusion at Shangri-La, and that extends beyond the workplace.

“The Coral Coast 7s provides a strong platform for women’s rugby, bringing teams together from Fiji, the region and internationally. We are pleased to support the Women’s Division and to provide our name and our resort as part of that experience.

“It is also an opportunity to welcome players and officials to the Coral Coast and showcase the destination through an event that brings together sport, tourism and the community.”

Shangri-La has supported the Coral Coast Fiji 7s since its inaugural tournament in 2010.

The partnership was highlighted yesterday at Shangri-La Yanuca Island, where the Coral Coast Fiji 7s also formalised a new media partnership with the Fiji Broadcasting Corporation.

The 2027 McDonald’s Coral Coast Fiji 7s will take place from 14–16 January 2027, marking the tournament’s 15th Anniversary and featuring men’s, women’s and youth competitions.

For Shangri-La Yanuca Island, the partnership brings together its support for women, its connection to the Coral Coast and its role as a host for visiting teams and sporting events
