Rupeni Cokomata

Fiji’s seasoned volleyball player, Rupeni Cokomata, is no stranger to representing his nation at the regional level.

This year, he joins the Pacific Games squad, an honour that underscores his enduring dedication to volleyball.

Notably, Cokomata was one of the players who secured victory over New Zealand at the Oceania Volleyball Championship in 2018, a memorable achievement in his sporting career.

The Power Spiker is acutely aware of his abilities, poised to serve as a seasoned role model for the newcomers.

“I know I have the height and I’m so thankful to be given the opportunity to represent my country. Also grateful to be one of the selected players. I know the team and I will give our all to succeed at the Pacific Games.”

As several players prepare for their regional debut, he understands it falls upon the seasoned veterans to uplift the team’s morale.

“I frequently remind the boys to stay true to our calling. Even though many of us have day jobs and there’s talk about our team, it doesn’t dampen our spirits. Our inclusion in the squad means we need to step up our game as we’ve been entrusted with fulfilling our purpose.”

The Fiji Volleyball men’s team is eagerly preparing for their journey, set to depart our shores on the 14th of the next month as they embark on their exciting adventure to participate in the Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.
