The 2019 Beach Volleyball Continental Cup has been postponed due to the measles outbreak.

Fiji Volleyball Federation has announced they have postponed the tournament which was scheduled to be held at Uprising Beach Resort next week.

Federation President Liga Gukisuva says this step was taken to ensure the safety of all players and officials.

Gukisuva says it’s in the best interest for everyone involved to have the tournament moved to a later date despite all arrangements being made.

He says the Federation is 90% prepared for the tournament.

Gukisuva today met with all key stakeholders in order to inform them directly of the current situation.

The tournament is expected to be held sometime next year.
